This day was good, bad, beautiful, and even a little torture. Burning sugarcane in Paia made that part of the drive torture, Breakfast at Colleens was great. The scenery of water falls and black beaches and views were great. The bridge that was still not reopened that made us do the road to hana and back the same way was a patience tester for sure (supposed of opened June 1, but didn’t. (new date was June 8???) We did not get to the 7 pools because of the bridge closure. Road work on the road had us stopped for 30 minutes in a couple places… My wife’s patience was tested the most so my kids felt they had to buy here a ‘Survived the Road to Hana’ shirt when we got back to Kihei.
